History of the Templars
|
|
The
order of warrior monks who were to become one of the most powerful
and controversial organisations in European medieval history, were
known by a variety of names; the Poor Knights of Christ and the
Temple of Solomon, la Milice du Christ or, more commonly, the Knights
Templar. Detailed accounts of the founding of the order are non-existent.

Templars Hierarchy
|
|
It is said that in the early days they had only four ranks. But
that wasn't a problem because the order had only few members back
then, some say because of recruiting difficulties other say it was
for reasons of secrecy, But later as they became more numerous they
installed many new ranks.
Here is a short overview of the ranks within the Templars order.

Jacques
DeMolay
|
|
In
1298, Jacques DeMolay was named Grand Master of the Knights Templar,
a position of power and prestige. As Grand Master however, Jacques
DeMolay was also in a difficult position. The Crusades were not
achieving their goals. The non-Christian Saracens defeated the Crusaders
in battle and captured many vital cities and posts. The Knights
Templar and the Hospitalers (another Order of Knights) were the
only groups remaining to confront the Saracens.

Trial and Death of the Templars
The Neoplatonic philosopher Plotinus (205-270 A.D.) in his work
entitled the Ennead, used three words, 'the Good, the True, and
the Beautiful', to refer to the triune nature of the unity of the
Godhead - which he called 'the One'. Plotinus' trinitarian ideas
have been very influential on Christian philosophers' attempts to
understand the nature of the Holy Trinity since the Middle Ages.

Did
The Templars Find The Ark Of The Covenant?
Article

To answer this question we must attempt to peer back through
the historical mists to try and determine whether anyone - let alone
the Templars - could have found the Ark. The first issue, however,
is whether the Ark could have been sufficiently well hidden so as
to avoid being destroyed or plundered during the final sack of the
temple by Titus in AD 70. The Bible provides us with a clue to the
answer.

Were
The Templars Heretics?
Article

The
Catholic Church hunted down and killed heretics including the Templars
therefore the Templars must have been heretics.
While this seems a simple conclusion, there were other factors involved.
Philippe the Fair, who was behind the Pope's charge of heresy against
the Templars in 1307, didn't believe they were heretics, he just saw
it as a way to dissolve the order.

for his accusers to join him in death within the year. True to this

Le Bel died within twelve months.

Author of "The Labyrinth of the Grail"
With the advent of the internet, there appears to be a swelling
tide of interest relating to the question as to whether the medieval
Knights Templar in fact possessed the Holy Grail. The answer to
this is a very simple one: There is no doubt whatsoever that the
Templars possessed the Holy Grail.
